Today was Madi's first swim lesson. SO FUN!! She has been asking for the last month if it was time to go swimming yet {ever since we signed her up!} and finally today was the day! One of the moms of a girl in Jonnet's daycare offered to pay for Madi's lessons if I picked her daughter up and took her with Madi {score!} so needless to say I totally jumped at that. So Madi, Bailey and I loaded up {Keahi was asleep at Jonnet's} and headed over to to pool. {Yes, they are the same age. Bailey is REALLY tall and Madi is on the short side} :O)
As soon as we got there Madi wanted to run and jump in, but the other class was still finishing up. She was so stinkin' cute doing all the little stretches and warm-ups and was all grins the whole time - even in that freezing water!
She, Brittlee and Bailey are all working with the same lifeguard, so that's fun for them.
First, they asked the girls to bob up and down in the water and get the top of their head wet. Then they showed them how to kick and practiced on the side of the pool.
They each got a turn "swimming" across the pool, just to get those kicks juuuuuuuuust right.
They let the kids play for a while after that and I could hear Madi "I can float! Did you know that? Watch me!" So after watching her sink they showed her how to float on her back. It was just the testing today so I'm excited to keep going and watch her learn how to swim. Poor Bentlee, she wasn't too sure about all the hype and buzz going on...
Amazing to see my baby grow up, one day at a time. One of the other moms said she was so sad to have her son in lessons because it was just one more step toward independence. I think she's crazy personally. It's awesome to be a part of someone discovering just how much they're capable of. And nothing beats seeing that spark of pride and excitement in her eyes when she realizes it. Ah, the joy of being a Mom!

I still just think you are so awesome to bring a camara to her first day of swim. I thought about it, but . . . :) Bring it Friday, they usually go off the boards every Friday! Thanks for taking pics of Britt, I'll have to get copies of that. Then she'll think I'm a good mom too!
You are a good mom, Chele! I had one kid there, you had 3. Besides, as long as the pics were taken, who cares who took them, right? :O)
Your girls are SO cute! Glad to hear Madi likes swim lessons. It makes it so much easier and more fun for the lifeguards too when the kids have a good time. Keep us updated on whether or not she goes off the diving board!
Your family is adorable and we had so much fun hanging out! Thank you for answering our bazillion questions.
